Since I entered middle school, some nine years ago, I have been doing research in order to write papers or to just learn something I didn't know before. Way back then (yeah I know, it wasn't THAT long ago) the card catalogue in the library had just started being moved to the back of the library, and in came the computers with internet. The internet has changed research immensely. Now, instead of scrummaging from library to library to round up books for your next english research paper, all the information you need is at the click of a mouse. Sure, not all of the information is correct on the internet, but from particular websites and by using the appropriate search engines, your chances of finding a faulty website are slim. My favorite search engine has got to be Google, although there are many others out there such as Yahoo, Ask Jeeves, and Lycos that can also do the job.
This past week in class, we started the Inspiration and the Web Hunt. The web hunt wasn't too bad. We had to basically look up things using google and take down the data on how we used the search engines and how we found the websites that we had used. If I am ever teaching a class that will deal with using the internet to search for data, I plan to give a thorough explaination of how to use the internet. It is very vital for students to understand how to use the internet, how to cite information, and how to copy information down correctly. The worst thing students can do is find a website with faulty date, which happens quite often.
Okay, not sure about anyone else, but I am taking a few classes that are kicking my butt all over the place. I'm currently taking Mr. Wrights MUH2011 music class and it is NOT as easy as it looks. I go to nearly every class, but the material is so boring that I have trouble understanding it for the tests. I heard there is a giant curve though, so that is good news. My other hard class is Calculus. Unfortunately it is a requirement for my major, so I need to do as well as I can. Luckily for me, a friend from back home is in my class, and he took calc in high school, so he teaches me everything I need to know for the exams. This is going to be a long semester in both classes. Hope everyone else is doing well in their classes!

I know what your saying about the card catalogs. Those things were so confusing. I'm glad they got rid of them.
