Chapter 1 in our textbook discusses technology within our schools in todays society. Students nowadays are very technologicaly understanding, and they know much more about todays technology than students in the past. The reason for this is because of the amount of technology these students are around day in and day out. Video games, computers, and televisions aid in this change. Technology can be used by teachers positively to help teach models such as ARCS, which helps pay special attention to students needs. This can include the incorporation on digital media.
Since last class meeting, I have learned basically how to set up a "blogger". A blogger, from what I have recently discovered, is basically a giant public forum in which people can write something of a journal, but one that others can view and comment on openly. Of course you are not forced to write anything you do not want to share, but it allows you to meet people who are interested in how you feel about things. It really is great to use with your students too. If you are a teacher in an english class, you could set-up a blogger for students to write in a few times a week and discuss current events about whats going on in class.
Well, something I want to share with you all. I guess for this post I will talk about me and where I am from. I was born and raised in Woburn, Massachusetts, a town just 8 miles north of Boston. When I was a freshman, my family moved all the way to Jupiter Florida, which is exactly 400 miles southeast of Florida State, right on the beach of the Sunshine State. There I finished my high school athletic career, playing football for all three years and baseball for one. Moving to Florida was a great thing, even though I miss my friends up north. I get to visit them as often as I can, but sometimes once a year just isn't enough time. Who knows where I will be teaching, Mass or Florida, either way I will be happy.
